Semicolon happy

When I was in high school my mom told me that the correct usage of a semicolon was the mark of a truly educated human being. Because of that, I tend to over use semicolons in an attempt to look smart; also because I start writing a sentence and forget where I was going with it before I get to the end. Anyway, here's a grammar lesson.
