M is for . . .

We had preschool at our house last week and had a blast with the letter M.  I figure I'll probably do M again with Moira someday, so I wanted to record some of our ideas to enjoy in a few years.

M is for Money

Follow the Money by Loreen Leedy
You Can't Buy a Dinosaur with a Dime by Harriet Ziefert
The Penny Pot by Stuart J. Murphy (This one was a BIG hit)

Activity: Snack Market.  We sold pretzels and raisins for a dollar a bag, fruit snacks for 2 dollars a box, Handi-snacks for 3 dollars a box, and Capri-Sun for 5 dollars a pouch.  "dollars" were furnished by Dollar Tree.

M is for Mitten

The Mitten by Jan Brett, Three Little Kittens

Mitten coloring page or gluing mosaic

M is for Map

There's a Map in my Lap by Tish Rabe

Activity:  Locating areas on a map and marking them with stickers, finding tents and airplanes to locate campgrounds and airports, following roads between cities, making a map of a room.

M is for Mustache

Books:
Big Bushy Mustache by Gary Soto
Moosetache by Margie Palatini

Activity:  Pin the mustache on the man
