Baby Stuff

We're busy anticipating this baby in the next few weeks.  Chris is working away at his dissertation.  I've developed the dropsy and my feet put on five pounds each every evening:

A group of friends threw me my first live and in-person baby shower last week.  I felt a little silly being the center of attention, but it was so fun to see everyone and eat delicious food.  We got so many lovely gifts: clothes, lotion (that Moira has claimed as her own), diapers, hooded towels, wipes, thermometers, blankets.  Here is a picture of a watercolor that a friend of the family painted:
It's blurry and shadowed because of my photo skills, not her painting skills.  Didn't she capture the girls so well?  I love that Ellie is in all pink and that Moira has a step stool. And, of course, the pig tails.

Moira is also getting read to have a brother (or possibly a dog, it varies) to love:
Isn't she going to be a big help?

PS:  Thanks for everyone's comments on the last post!

Sorry about your feet. But I am jealous you are almost done.

By the way, the picture of you and Chris from a couple posts ago is very cute. Wow, how time flies. Congratulations on your sixth anniversary. As Clarke says, jokingly every year: did you ever think we would make it this far?

Hope all is going well, besides the fat feet.

What a cute painting.

Sorry about the whole, taking on water thing. It makes it hard to put on any shoes besides flip flops. Good thing it's spring!

I bet you are adorable. Wish I could be there to see your cute belly and celebrate his arrival.

Do the hot days make it worse? Does your dr. tell you to stay off your feet?

Just make sure there are no markers lying around when Moira is holding the baby ;)

Happy baby countdown! You're in the home stretch!!!

Wow! You're getting SO CLOSE!!! That stinks about the swelling, hopefully once the baby comes you'll start feeling a lot better.

A baby is a lot like a dog...they follow you around, eat food off the floor and yap at strangers. I have always called Jake my little puppy, he acts JUST like one.

Sorry about your feet!
I know it's awkward being the center of attention, but it's worth it in the end when you come away with a haul like you did!
I am amazed at Elaine's painting.
Can't wait for that baby!!
p.s. Thanks for the flowers!
