A poem about Moira who sleeps with my shirt
and fingers the carpet for pieces of dirt,
who sat up long before she learned how to roll,
and complains in the jogger halfway through our stroll.

Tongue out, licky kisses, she starts conversations,
earns smiles from strangers, our friends, and relations.
She gets our attention with a pat pat pat pat,
she “rah”s, says DaDa and mews like a cat.

No more napping! Where’s Ellie? is her greatest care,
but watch out, big sister—she’ll grab for your hair
and suck on your toys if you leave them out (true),
but she squeals and she shrieks when you play peak-a-boo.

She splashes and squirms and face-plants in the bath
eating her chin and her cheeks makes her laugh,
she wears out shocks in her ‘saucer, grabs with her feet,
stares down the screen saver like it’s something to eat.

She claps on her tummy and claps on the floor,
if she sees a spoon, her mouth opens for more,
when she gets bored then she’ll suck on her toes
and gross us all out with her talented nose.

She bounces with daddy and coos at our sight
but we’re not really sure if she’ll sleep through the night.
Moira made her appearance with a very fast birth
and I sure am glad that she came to this earth!

Thanks.

And I love that flip flop picture, too! I'm totally falling in love with the "auto" function on my Canon Powershot.

What a cute baby. Her dad must be one good looking guy. Or maybe the picture taker is the culprit?

Definitely her dad :)
