Post post bo bost

In a recent comment, Lisa wrote that she assumed I've been running and writing instead of blogging, which is simply not true. Oh no, although those are the things I wish I was doing, instead I've been shepherding the girls away from the plethora of breakables and unable to access my computer at the same time. In my spare moments, I am despondently lonely for Westborough and all the fun people there. (In my nostalgia I've completely forgotten about the paper thin windows and useless air conditioning which everyone should comment on or otherwise I might decide I'm crazy enough to drive back alone with both the girls).

But, things are happening. For example: we've had a birthday! Yippee: Chris is the ripe old age of 27, and Ellie stuck that many candles into the cake in an impressively staight line:

And then Chris tried to burn down the house. Note Ellie's look of concern. A firefighter in the making?

In other news I took this picture of some stains on Ellie's dress:

Pay attention to the stains on the dress and not the carpet, says my mother-in-law. I was sure I could do some funny post with a before and after. Well, HA! I soaked it and sprayed it with half a bottle of Zout and those stains weren't leaving. Finally I just bleached the dang thing. Lo and behold, it's white again. Yay for Clorox.

Fascinating, no? This life of ours.

About this time every summer, I get this itchy if-we-don't-get-out-of-this-house-immediately-my-head-will-explode feeling and I start driving by all the houses for sale. BUT, since we're thinking we kinda sorta probably will be here, I've called an unsuspecting realator and plan to look at houses next week. It looks like there's two options: an older house in a more established part of town with a slightly bigger lot, or a newer home that fits exactly onto the lot--more square footage, but only three swipes of lawn.

So, people, weigh in:

Big house with miniscule yard

or

small house with a little more breathing room.

which would you choose?

Oh, and, Angie, I don't have your email address, but I definitely think the pumpkin patch needs a hay ride. Let's fill all our jogging strollers with hay and push the kiddos around Westborough.

hehe...i'm glad to get the update! bleach is a wonderful thing - i even get a little daring sometime and put it on the white of clothes that has color too and it turn out fine.

mmm, not sure about the house thing...though we did go for the old house with a large yard. our first concern was school district though...but a bigger house wouldn't be terrible...how much snow/rain do you get out there? perhaps if you'll be inside more, i'd opt for the sqaure footage.

I'd go for a big house. . .but I've been trapped in a teeny tiny apartment for YEARS (so small that our new baby will have his own bedroom - in our closet) so my opinion may be biased. Space sounds too good to pass up!

Hey Chris - grab the camera and post a shot of Reba on the blog. . .I've noticed a pattern of photos posted of only you and the girls. . .not that you all aren't very cute but I'd love to see Reba! It's been so long since I've seen her. . .I think since Jola's wedding! That's been years!

Anyway, BIG house gets my vote! Have fun house hunting!

This is Lee and Katherine, (Lee typing), I think you have to factor in the weather. If you can utilize a yard because the weather is good then I would go for the small house and big yard, being outside is more fun anyway right?

Tough choice. Ummm...just ask yourself this question: Is it cute? Let's put our priorities in order. Really though, is it manageable size with good storage and functioning space? Because if it is, small is good---less to clean. Are you going to put a lot of time and $$$ into fixing up or repairing? I like mowing...do you?
Whatever you decide, it's not too far from me, so GR-R-REAT!

Usually around 9 p.m. I get that feeling of if-I-don't-get-out-of-this-house-immediately-my-head-will-explode because children will not go to sleep!!!!!!!!!!

bigger house, smaller yard. You can go to beautiful parks when weather is good, but when it's not, you'll be happier inside!

I have really enjoyed being in a bigger house (as we are now). I don't get as stir crazy as I did in the apartment. If you find a nice yard it won't matter if it's not that big. We have a HUGE yard but it's all on a hill so we don't even use it. There is one little patch of grass that the kids play on. But, on the other hand, I wouldn't trade the big beautiful mature trees for anything. It is what keeps us cool and adds so much beauty to the home.

You will choose right! Have fun doing so!

Big house! Sharing bedrooms with babies is no fun. (I have many memories as a kid growing up being woken up by a little baby sister crying). And yes, there are always parks, right?! Plus, no lead paint in new homes. Random.
We miss you Reba!
Hope you're doing well!

little house, little house, LITTLE HOUSE!!! how many childhood memories are made playing outside? just get a fence and walla! instant fun... plus in an established neighborhood you'll have old people neighbors which really is a lot better than young people neighbors. old people make cookies...

If you have a little yard your neighbors may not like your pumpkin plant growing into thier living room............Not that Holly minds I am sure, but not everyone is as nice as we are in Westborough!

ps: I am looking for good deals on hay that fits in stollers.
