The girls and I headed over to Petland to visit the animals last Monday and a very nice saleslady paired us with a teeny tiny Papillon puppy. (The above picture is very near actual size) The stores have little booths where you can visit with the dogs, so the girls and I really got to interact with the little furball while the saleslady watched us. And watch us she did. A nice young family needs a dog right? Especially the same one that Fancy Nancy wants in Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy. And especially one with the same birthday as Ellie. And especially one that twirled around in circles with Moira.
I think the saleslady was feeling pretty good. And then I asked how much the papillon puppy costs.
$2000.
Yeah, I don't think we're getting a papillon any time soon.

holy cow! and that's just the beginning too...i know we've spent well over $1000 on milly w/ vet bills and toys and food and replacing phone cords and hoses she chewed to bits. she was only $500 though, still pretty pricey.
Ouch! That's steep! Can't see why you wouldn't want it.
what the heck! That is crazy. My family got one of those last summer. I wonder what they paid for it; I wouldn't be suprised if it was 2 grand.
When I first saw your post, I thought of Fancy Nancy! And yes papillons are way too posh for us too!! Kassie would L-O-V-E one!!!

Holy cow. We went to Petland for FHE last week and Sean LOVED all the dogs. He was so cute. Almost made me want to get one for him. ALMOST.
OMG! PLEASE DO NOT BUY A DOG FROM PETLAND! THEY SUPPORT PUPPY MILLS!

or any reputable breeder and they will tell you not only are the dogs overpriced but they can be riddled with health problems and not even the pure breed they are claiming!
I'm sure my parents (Dan and Lezlie Couch) would be happy to let you play with their papillons any time! In fact, they'd probably come do an FHE lesson about obedience for you if you wanted.
Fancy Nancy is that the same character who loves Magenta -We love Fancy Nancy so I am going to have to find that book. An yes tht is a cute dog-it would make me consider getting another.
