Update

Chris: had his twenty-ninth birthday last month and we celebrated with meat on Danny and Katie's grill. He continues to work on his dissertation and spends most of Sunday at the church clerking. Saturday he delighted the girls by taking them on a bike ride over the river to play at the park.

I've been feeding a baby around the clock and running in the early morning. Oh and neglecting housework to read books and chase after these three:

Ellie: finished swimming lessons the week before last without ever putting her head under the water. In case you were wondering, she didn't move on to the next level. (Her teacher was a saint.)
Also, Ellie had quite the experience with local wildlife. Last Thursday we were riding bikes at the park when she screamed. I ran over and saw a black dot in the inner corner of her eye, but I couldn't get it out because she was too distressed to look away and let me touch the mysterious black thing. We headed home and I called a friend from the ward who is a PA. He told me how to flush the thing out of her eye, so I patiently held her upper eyelid over her lower eyelid until her nose was running and tears were flowing--both because we were trying to make her cry and also because the thing in her eye hurt. After about fifteen minutes, a bug appeared on the outside corner of her eye (that's right, the OPPOSITE side where it had entered). He was dead, but we saved him just to show how brave Ellie was:

Moira: also had a run in with a bug: she stepped on a bee at the beloved squirty park. Luckily, a friend had baking soda in her car, so we could treat her then stay and play. Moira also has been exercising her right as middle child to act out for attention. In the last week, she drew with crayon on our living room chais and then after the crayons were confiscated she drew on the futon with Color Wonder markers that are supposed to only write on paper, but that also write on futons. She also has a very loving relationship with Clark, except for when she tries to carry him or when she gives him a good strong poke. I like it when I can find a way for them to play together:

And Clark? He continues to be a calm, interactive baby. Also, he laughs:

It's good to see an update. It looks like three kids are doable. Kassie will not put her head under either. Clark is so adorable!

Also I love that you use the outfit I made for Clark!
And Ellie, I am so impressed with your bravery in such a nasty bug situation.

One day Ellie will jump into the water and never look back...my boys were the same way and then one day they took the plunge so don't worry too much about it. How lucky you are to have boys & girls :)

Ellie sounds just like Jake. Loves the water, but hates it to be anywhere near his face. Too cute ;)

Thanks for the tip to never buy Color Wonder markers. Silly Moira!

The video of Clark is so cute. I love the laughs and the hiccups!
