** spoiler alert ** I was warned that this book isn't about the romance, so that was a helpful warning. I must admit that I was most interested in the war games aspect of it. In the past, Katniss (still think her name was less than inspired) has bugged me, but this time I really understood her pain, and I thought she was validly frustrated and angry and addicted to pain meds.
For some reason, it spoke to me as the way that I have to navigate womanhood and the ability to find worth beyond home, family, fame, weight, beauty, competition, etc and how so many of those choices have blown up on me as I've sought them. (Which reminds me: I totally need to mop my floor)
In the end, I thought Peeta helping her plant flowers was the right choice symbolically. Not sure if I just wasn't paying attention before, or if these books have always been smarter than I gave them credit for.

but Ugh! How could she vote for another hunger Games after everything she'd been through? I thought the whole point of her fight was to get rid of the hunger Games and then she chooses that as punishment? Sick!
I agree about Katniss' name. There were times I just had to skim over it when it was mentioned because it bugged me. Maybe we should have "ss" behind our names too, yes that would be cool. You can be Rebekuss and I will be Naticuss.
