We've been having beautiful weather here in Columbus, so the girls and I end up spending some time every day outside with friends. We went to a cupcake bakery in Powell on Wednesday with my friend Stephanie and her son Creed. The cupcakes were yummy (albeit a bit pricey) and Stephanie showed us an adorable boutique with all sorts of fun crafts inside. The girls were very well behaved (translation: we didn't break anything). We wound up at a "Splash pad" --the fancy name for a squirty park--and played for awhile. Fun times.
Chris and I also went rollerblading with the girls on the paved path by the river. Normally, I'm the one behind the stroller (because it has a brake and I can't exactly stop on rollerblades) but the double jogger is so heavy that I braved it and bladed alone while Chris pushed. And (fanfare please) I didn't fall. Yay! Now Chris doesn't look like a male chauvinist.
And, the biggest news: two members of our family are in school. Chris has classes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and reports that it shouldn't be too bad. Apparently, his math teacher EXPECTS group homework, so his study group can finally just turn in one assignment--nice. Ellie also started school this week and is doing beautifully. She runs into the classroom every day, takes off her shoes to get comfortable, and starts learning. We have an entire gallery of her art projects and look forward to more. It's a good outlet for her and once Moira and I learn how to spend time with just the two of us, I think it'll be good for our whole family.
Tonight we're south to President and Sister Christensen's for dinner at their new house. It's such a blessing that Chris has such a wonderful advisor.
