Long lost post #3

I won "Mom of the Week" when I picked Ellie up from preschool carrying an umbrella. Ellie felt sooo cool. I can't remember much from the begining of the week other than Chris took Moira to get our tires rotated and Ellie and I made pictures with colored rice and glue.

Thursday Moira and I went to her first storytime and then upgraded her from high chair to booster seat to get a little extra room in our kitchen. She loves to sit at the table like part of the family. And I love that I don't trip over a high chair any more.

Friday we went apple picking with the Dotsons and Kelly's. Ellie, Henry, and Olivia ran up and down the aisles while Holly, Angie, and I tried to avoid the red delicious apples.

This picture shamelessly lifted from Holly's blog. Aren't those 3 year olds cute? Now if only they were all named Jonathan.

Moira and Peter and Andrew hund out in strolllers and backpacks. Funny story: Moira and Peter were in their backpacks next to each other on the ground -- the backpacks have a feature where they stand up. Like this:

This picture also lifted from Holly's blog. Notice that Moira's holding the apple. She gave to to Peter a minute later. And the look on her face is priceless!! Now if only Peter seemed half so interested.

Anyway, Peter’s backpack tipped over. But he was really calm about it. We might not have noticed if it wasn't for Moira’s terrified crying. She’s got to watch out for her friends. And exercise those lungs. Whew.

Yesterday Chris and I tried to go rollerblading in the park, but one of our wheels was flat, so we played at the park and went out to lunch instead. Ellie was very upset that we were going to a scary restaraunt, but cheered up when she learned that they had pink chairs. Thank goodness for pink chairs!

That's all I can remember from this week. Chris is going out of town for a conference tomorrow and will be gone until Wednesday. If I survive being a single parent for a few days I'll write again next week.

This post was a letter I sent to update far away family. I messed with the blogger timestamp to make the dates accurate.
